“What a wonderful God we have — he is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the source of every mercy, and the one who so wonderfully comforts and strengthens us in our hardships and trials. And why does he do this? So that when others are troubled, needing our sympathy and encouragement, we can pass on to them this same help and comfort God has given us.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Gina and I consider it a privilege to carry the message of hope and love to hurting people who in many ways are searching for legitimate needs in illegitimate ways. It causes us to attempt to live out Isaiah 61:1b: “He has sent ‘us’ to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”
Part of our ministry involves counseling. Our counseling journey has involved many hours of lay counseling which then led to further training as we both obtained our Masters in Clinical Counseling from Columbia International University. We are Licensed Professional Counselors and members of the American Association of Christian Counselors. We have sat with a number of individuals, couples, and families that we consider our heroes when we think of how far they have come in their healing journey with God and others. Please pray that we would have wisdom as we work with others.
