When I think of Christmas traditions, one of my favorites is when the boys join me in helping me make our homemade Christmas Peanut Butter each year. However what we experienced recently may have even trumped our peanut butter.
This past Sunday, some friends from our church joined with us as we had a Christmas party with some of the men from Oliver Gospel Mission. Since most of the men are unable to join their families for Christmas, we decided to bring Christmas to them.
In between Christmas cookies and putting up a Christmas tree, we had an icebreaker where everyone met one new person. During the conversation, they shared a little bit about their stories in addition to their favorite Christmas tradition. They then prayed together in their small groups followed by the reading of the Christmas story. After our time together, several shared that it was an encouragement being able to celebrate Christmas a little early together.
As you are spending time with your families during this Christmas season, please join us in praying for both the men of Oliver Gospel Mission and their families.
